After all of the music blogging I have done in the past year for my own blog as well as the Strangefruitmusicblog … it is still a thrill to stumble upon refreshing new talent. Got this musical treat from my favourite advisors in tranquil electronics the Mint Collective.
Szjerdene is a songstress from the UK who happens to love old skool jazz and is non-suprisingly inspired by among others Sarah Vaughn & Etta James. She is currently working on her EP, entitled ‘Patchwork’, which promises to be a soulful, bluesy fusion of sounds both old and new. Needless to say I’ll be on the look out for that.
Her track “Think It Through” is available for free download on her bandcamp. The track is the result of a blend of her melancholy yet very clear voice with a folk tune by Savath y Savalas and lyrics provided by an other favourite of mine, Mar. The whole extraordinary mix makes for a soothing musical experience I really need to share with y’all.
